DJI Osmo 360 and Osmo Nano Slated for Summer Launch—Action 6 Skips the Lineup

A new leak has confirmed that the highly anticipated DJI Osmo 360 and DJI Osmo Nano are both being prepped for release this summer, marking a pivotal expansion in DJI’s consumer imaging portfolio. However, those waiting for a new flagship action cam may be disappointed—the Osmo Action 6 is reportedly not part of this season’s release schedule.

According to a leak published by NotebookCheck, DJI is planning to launch a two new action cameras this summer: the Osmo 360, and the ultra-compact Osmo Nano.

DJI Osmo 360: A Game-Changer for 360-Degree Video

The DJI Osmo 360 has emerged as one of the most anticipated entries into the 360-camera market in recent years. Featuring a rumored 1/1.3-inch sensor, dual-lens setup, and seamless integration with DJI’s Mimo app, the Osmo 360 appears to be a direct Insta360 rival—and possibly a market disruptor. Leaked manuals and images hint at a design built for action and immersion, with touch interface controls, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and a 1,950 mAh battery onboard.

When DJI Osmo 360 launches this summer, it could land ahead of GoPro’s next-generation Max update and compete directly with Insta360’s X3 and One RS models, which dominate the 360 content creation market. DJI’s edge? Larger sensor size, tighter software integration, and a proven reputation for stabilization tech.

DJI Osmo Nano: DJI's First Compact Action Camera

Joining the Osmo 360 is the DJI Osmo Nano, whose release was leaked a while ago. DJI Osmo Nano device that appears to target the lightweight creator crowd—travelers, vloggers, and mobile shooters looking for power in a minimal footprint. Details remain limited, but based on FCC documentation and DJI’s naming history, the Nano may borrow from the Osmo Pocket line in terms of portability while offering a new spin on functionality.

Early speculation and recent DJI Osmo Nano design leaks suggest that the Osmo Nano may sacrifice some of the higher-end imaging features of the 360 model in favor of ultra-portability, possibly putting it in direct competition with Insta360’s GO 3 or even the GoPro Hero Mini line.

Osmo Action 6 Delayed—or Off the Radar?

Interestingly absent from DJI’s near-term release roadmap is the DJI Osmo Action 6, the expected successor to the Osmo Action 4. Despite strong market interest and a history of regular updates in the action cam line, the latest leak confirms that DJI is not launching the Action 6 this summer. However, rumors regarding the DJI Osmo Action 6 release date suggest the action camera will be released in 2025.

Whether this is a strategic delay or a longer-term shift remains to be seen. Some speculate DJI is spacing out its creator hardware lineup to avoid internal competition and to spotlight the 360 and Nano cameras as part of a new creative push.

What This Means for DJI’s 2025 Strategy

The summer release window for the DJI Osmo 360 and Nano signals a clear shift in DJI’s content creation priorities.

Rather than iterate on an existing formula (as with the Action 6), the company is pushing into new form factors and capturing segments currently led by Insta360 and GoPro.

With stabilization, sensor quality, and app integration at the heart of DJI’s advantage, the new products could shake up a maturing market and attract both casual users and professionals seeking more immersive storytelling tools.

While pricing, exact specs, and launch dates remain unconfirmed, industry watchers are expecting more concrete news in the coming weeks. If DJI sticks to this roadmap, it will likely dominate the summer tech cycle with not just one, but three highly anticipated product launches.

As always, we'll be on the lookout for new information to share with you.
